Day 2 of the AJW Drawing challenge run by Palma of A Creative Journey reads draw your favourite book that includes the title. I am no good at choosing favourites when it comes to books. I have lived with thousands (no exaggeration) in my house all my adult life and I have never understood how people can choose favourites. Instead I picked 3 books from the pile beside my bed and sketched those.
I sketched them quickly using watercolour and my Lamy pen in a Strathmore Mixed media sketch book. As usual click on the photo to see a larger version. For those interested the books, they are Notebooks by Betty Churcher (really loving this book). Do Travel writers go to hell by Thoma Kohnstamm is an eye opener about the travel guide writing industry. The Urban Watercolor Sketching by Felix Scheinberger I have only dipped into but is worth a longer review as I am enjoying the way the information about topics such as colour, pigments etc is presented.
This art journalling challenge proposes a prompt everyday in January. The idea is to draw or create a page spread in your visual journal and share it in the Artist Journal Workshop Facebook group
