Gardening on Australia Day

sketch of glovesThere was a cool change in the weather for Australia Day. Although I am sure there were thousands of people that did the traditional barbecue, around our suburb you could hear the sound of lawn mowers as people took advantage of the long weekend and the cooler weather to get a bit of yard work done. We pottered about the yard  hence the sketch of my gardening gloves. They are not dainty ladies gloves but no nonsense hard working gloves. The palms are leather and wear through a pair about once a year. They get holes in the tips of the fingers where I scrub about.  Click on the image to see a larger version.

Once again I worked across the centre of the page and I am still not at ease with it.   I am still using my Strathmore mixed media sketchbook. This sketch is done using artist pitt pens and watercolour paint. It is #246 on the  EDM challenge list  which reads Draw some gloves.

  1. They look like my sort of gloves. I can’t be doing with namby pamby! But they look an awful lot cleaner than mine 🙂 I love the green – is it a colour you mixed or a convenience one?

Jules they are not clean – honestly
I mixed the green colour but not sure I remember what I used! I will see if I can repeat it and let you know
