Video of Travel Journal

I mentioned yesterday I had filled my first travel journal and was on to the second. I thought I would share a flip through the pages so you could see how I keep a travel journal. I hope you enjoy the journal flip.

Thank you for the journal tour! You were so lucky to be greeted by your long necked spotted friend in Paris. I have five of his brothers and sisters standing on the bookcase in my den. Plus the fan pull is another little guy. (Africa themed room you know!) Keep you adventures coming! Carol in Clermont, FL

Sharon – thanks so much for sharing your wonderful journal. It has inspired me to do the same on my next trip away. Nothing beats seeing your approach step by step!
Best wishes for the rest of your travels

Sharon thank you for sharing. It is so inspirational, and yes, I too will do something like that when I hopefully get to do my trip of a life time next year. Although there wont be the amazing sketches. They do add a (feel like you are there) approach
    Safe travels

Oh I am pleased you think it inspirational – it is not hard to do I just make sure I do it every day. I keep a regular journal too so am in the habit which probably helps

Gosh that is an amazing journal and you have not got to the UK yet. You are clearly having a great time and seeing lots of sights and it is lovely that you are sharing it all with us. Will look forward to the next episode. Have a great time.

I was up early this morning, 4.45 and spent the early hour on a wonderful journey with you and your journal. So very interesting and now waiting for the next one. You will relive the memories of this wonderful holiday every time you look at this book. Next week you will be here in the UK, sorry the weather is about to get much colder our lovely summer and erly autumn are about to end.

It is now 10 years since I was in Paris, I have now brought my journal out and will have a reminisce this evening.

Look forward to the next completed journal.

    Very inspiring thanks.

Once again, thanks Sharon for sharing. The video was fantastic and now that I have heard your voice I can imagine you talking when I read over my class notes from the Journal course. I consider this video (and any future ones) as part of the journal course.

You and Jerry seem to be having such a good time, so thank you for taking the time out to share it with us all.

I have learnt so much about Paris from your tonesandtints blog. Thank you so much. I can’t wait to see what you sketch when you come here to Bath at the end of the month! I wonder if you have withdrawal symptoms with not embroidering!? Best wishes

  11. Annet says:

I enjoyed watching your journal. Nice to hear your voice!

  12. Connie says:

    Sharon, Thanks for sharing! I enjoyed it very much. Perhaps I’ll use your ideas on my next big trip. (-;

  13. My cup of coffee in hand, I just sat down for a wonderful journey via your travels. I wonder if you know how much you inspire everyone with your creativity… I’m always in awe. I now realize that I must get back to my journaling! Thank you for sharing!

  14. How clever of you to chronicle your trip as you go. I have always relied too much on memory, and hence the story loses a lot. I love how you combine the writing of a traditional journal (diary) with the souvenir maps, etc of a scrapbook – plus your own personal artwork touches. What a delight! Continue to travel and enjoy yourselves in good health!

  15. Maureen says:

Thanks for sharing not just your wonderful trip but the making of your journal, which beats filling up an exercise book of words.
If we make another long trip I will be sure to follow your example of recording it. I love the giraffe poking his nose in to check you’ve done things right.

You and Jerry make a great team, sharing your experiences and the videos have been fabulous to watch.

  16. Faith says:

Sweet! I quite enjoyed watching this and hearing your voice for the first time. It IS inspiring… for me, because of the simplicity of it. (Been watching my mom make art journal pages…lovely, but complicated.) I’m looking forward to catching up with this blog and seeing the next journal.

So happy for you that your trip was so fun.
Enjoyed your journey, thank you for sharing. Looking forward for the rest of your travels. Did you bring your little partner back with you? He seems to be having to much fun helping you share your travels.

  18. Verena says:

Thank you so much, Sharon and husband, for sharing your experiences with us. I think keeping a journal as you do with notes, sketches, pictures, samples of all sorts of things is great; in years to come you will be able to remember your extraordinary travels also complemented with lovely photographs.
Furthermore it feels quite homely hearing your voice.
I’m looking forward to the second part.
